Posted: 10/02/2015
Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on Cumberland Ave. on Oct. 5 and West Forest Boulevard on Oct. 5-20.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Cumberland Avenue Lane Closure [October 5] – KUB and its contractor will reduce a section of Cumberland Avenue to one lane of westbound traffic between Walnut Street and the USPS entrance/exit on Cumberland Avenue from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Monday, October 5, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. One northbound lane of traffic in the Cumberland Avenue/Walnut Street intersection will be maintained. Traffic to USPS should use the entrance on Walnut Street, and exit on Cumberland Avenue. Please see attached map for more detailed traffic information.

(West Knoxville) West Forest Boulevard Lane Closures [October 5-20] – KUB crews will implement lane closures on West Forest Boulevard between West Cliff Drive and Middlebrook Pike from  7 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, October 5-20, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. The natural gas upgrades in the West Forest neighborhood are expected to continue through November 2015. Additional advisories for utility work impacting traffic flow in this area will be issued as needed.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
