Healthcare Enrollment Event Feb. 7 with Knoxville Area Project Access

Posted: 01/27/2015
Knoxville Area Project AccessWith the upcoming Feb. 15 Healthcare Enrollment deadline closing in, Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Knoxville Area Project Access are sponsoring a Saturday, Feb. 7, Healthcare Enrollment event to offer support to citizens.

The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Pellissippi State Magnolia Campus in the Library Technology Lab - 1610 East Magnolia Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917

"We encourage those without health insurance to explore their options under the Affordable Care Act," Mayor Rogero said. "Trained professionals will be on hand to help folks compare health plan options and sign up for coverage if they decide to do so."

The Pellissippi State Magnolia Avenue location was chosen because it is accessible by public transportation and also has a computer lab that will allow for the maximum number of people to be helped.

Knoxville Area Project Access (KAPA) is continuing its mission to help East Tennesseans find needed healthcare by serving as the area Navigator program. As a Navigator, KAPA helps with enrollment of eligible individuals and small businesses in Knox County and surrounding counties into Qualified Health Plans through the health insurance marketplace.

Knoxville Area Project Access' Navigators will be working alongside Certified Application Counselors from Cherokee Health System and will receive assistance from volunteers from the Tennessee Health Campaign. More than 20 people will be on site to offer assistance.

Consumers will be provided with one-on-one assistance for creating, reviewing and choosing healthcare marketplace accounts. KAPA Navigators can also answer questions about eligibility, enrollment rules and procedures for Tenncare, CoverKids, and marketplace tax credits.

Please help us get the word out to the community!
