Library Hosting Building Healthy Communities Series

Murphy Branch of the Knox County Public Library is hosting a series of programs aimed at helping area residents find out what is happening in their community, discuss the future plans for the area, and find resources for assistance when they need it.Murphy Branch Library is located in the LT Ross Building at 2247 Western Avenue.

"We would like the local community to come together for informational meetings where they can find out about community resources and future plans. We'd like for them to feel a sense of ownership toward both the library and community," says Sandy Chandler, Murphy Branch Manager.

Neighborhood Safety
March 10, 5 p.m.
Hosted by Bentley Barlow of the Mechanicsville Neighborhood Watch Association and Chuck Williams, a community activist.

A Conversation with Knoxville Mayor Daniel Brown
April 14, 5 p. m.

Helping Hands in the Community
May 12, 5 p.m.
A panel discussion featuring Sara Mary Wallace, Statewide 2-1-1 Coordinator; Sarah Harder, Metropolitan Drug Commission; Edna Eickman, Grandparents as Parents Program Manager; Barbara Monty, Director, Office on Aging; and Ben Epperson, Knox County Health Department.
