KUB Safety Alert regarding Imposters

Posted: 07/01/2011
KUB advises customers to ask for identification from anyone claiming to work for the utility company, even if you initiated the visit.

Do not let anyone claiming to be a KUB employee into your home or accompany them on your property without a KUB photo identification badge. Unfortunately, it is common for people to impersonate utility workers to attempt to gain access to customers' homes and property.

All KUB employees and contractors carry KUB ID badges with them at all times. Also, remember that KUB employees rarely ask to enter a customer's home unless the customer initiated the visit.

Because KUB contracts with other companies, you also may see non-KUB employees with legitimate KUB badges. Even professional-looking badges may have been forged, however, feel free to call KUB at 524-2911 to verify that someone has been sent to your address.

If you are still unsure, do not hesitate to call 911. KUB cares about the safety of its community and wants to caution all customers about letting strangers into their homes.
