Grand Opening of the Largest Solar PV System in the City

Posted: 04/16/2010
Mayor Bill Haslam will join Ray Lahti, owner of Tillery Self Storage and David Bolt, the founder of Sustainable Future LLC, to celebrate the grand opening of the largest Solar PV system in the City of Knoxville. The ceremony will be held on Monday, April 19 at 11 a.m.

Sustainable Future LLC built the 22.05 KW Solar Photo Voltaic System which includes 126 BP solar panels expected to produce more than 27,500 kilowatt hours of electricity a year.

The new solar array is easily the biggest in Knoxville and the grand opening is one of the highlights of Earth Week in the city, culminating the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day on Thursday, April 22.

With the new system at Tillery Self Storage the city's solar capacity has nearly tripled in the last two years.
