The March 29, 2009 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon will necessitate periodic road and lane closures throughout the city from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. All streets are expected to be open by 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Motorists who need to reach Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and East Tennessee Children's Hospital on Sunday morning should take Alcoa Highway to the Cumberland Avenue exit and enter the Fort Sanders area via 20th Street.
Parking will be prohibited on Clinch Avenue between 11th and 16th streets, and vehicles parked on the street will be towed Saturday evening.Maps of the courses are available at www.knoxvillemarathon.com

*WFP DR --- closed from start of race until 1/2 marathon passes from 11th St, then closure is moved to south of parking lot beside the Museum of Art
*CLINCH AVE BRIDGE---from Henley St to 11th St. closed entire time of the Marathon
*CLINCH AVE---close @ start of marathon, 5k, and kids walk from 11th St. - 16th St.
*16th St---close @ start of marathon, 5k, and kids walk from Clinch to Cumberland
*VOLUNTEER BLVD EAST BOUND LANES---Closed for marathon and 5k all the way back to UT Drive on the West end
*LAKE LOUDON BLVD---South bound lanes of Lake Loudon Blvd from Vol Blvd to Neyland Dr for marathon
*NEYLAND DR---East bound lanes closed for marathon from Lake Loudon to Kingston Pk
*KINGSTON PK----The E/B lane, traffic will be made 2-way in the West bound lanes
*CHEROKEE BLVD---South Bound lanes of Cherokee Blvd
*BLOWS FERRY---right lane or (W/B) lanes of Blows Ferry closed
*ALTA VISTA WAY---right lane or N/B lane of Alta Vista Way closed.
*NOELTON---right lane of Noelton (towards Kingston Pk closed from Alta Vista Way to Kingston Pike).
*KINGSTON PK---right lane closed on W/B Kingston Pike from Noelton to Forest Park.
*FOREST PARK---right lane N/B closed from Kingston Pk to Newcon.
*NEWCOM---road closed both end from Forest Park to Lebanon
*LEBANON---Road-closed at Sutherland Ave to Newcom
*TYSON PARK---road closed at Kingston Pk entrance and road close sign inside Tyson Park @ 129 overhead.
*CUMBERLAND AVE---right W/B curb lane of Cumberland Ave from 21st to Tyson Park.
*21st ST---full closure of 21st St from Forest Ave to Cumberland Ave.
*FOREST AVE---full closure Forest Ave from 17th St to 21st St, continue closure from 17th east to 13th.
*HIGHLAND AVE---road close E/B lanes of Highland from 11th to 13th.
*WFP DR.---close WFP DR on the North end by Fort Kid (other end already closed)
*BROADWAY---right lane closed from WFP to Central Ave.
*CENTRAL AVE---S/B right lane closed from Broadway to 3rd Ave.
*CENTRAL AVE---N/B right lane from Magnolia Ave to 4th Ave closed.
*WINONA---N/B lanes closed from Magnolia to Woodbine.
*WOODBINE---close both ends from Winona to Bertrand, Local traffic only
*PATTON---road closed signs both ends between Jackson and Willow.
*JACKSON AVE---East Bound lane from Patton to Central cones approx 6-8 ft off curb to give runners a lane (runners in E/B lanes behind the cones).
*CENTRAL AVE---S/B lane from Jackson Ave to Cumberland at S. Central.
*STATE ST--East curb in the right N/B lane (runners have a lane behind the cones)
*HILL AVE---closure for E/B Hill Ave to JWP S/B entrance ramp stating at Gay St.
*SEVIER AVE---right lane closed from JWP to Island Home Ave with cones continued approx 8 feet from curb on Sevier Ave.
*ISLAND HOME AVE---complete closure from Sevier to Maplewood. W/B traffic will be force to use Hillwood Dr
*SEVIER AVE---cones 6-8 ft from W/B curb to allow runners to use. From Island Home to Gay St.
Runners using east sidewalk across the Gay St Bridge
*GAY ST.---from Hill Ave to Wall, N/B right lane of Gay St and closed.
*MARKET St---entire Market St from Union to Church closed
*CHURCH ST---closure W/B right lane from Market to Locust
*ESTABROOK ROAD---entire Estabrook Road closed from Cumberland to Gate 25
*CUMBERLAND AVE---south curb in the E/B Cumberland Ave from Philip Fulmer Way to Estabrook
