Mayor Haslam, AC Entertainment, WDVX, Knoxville Americana Music Foundation and the Maid Rite Stringband announced this afternoon the creation of a new live monthly radio show that highlights the music of Tennessee and the region.
It will be called "Tennessee Shines" and will debut on Wednesday night, August 27, at 7 p.m. live on the stage at the Bijou Theatre and broadcasted on WDVX. It will consist of a fast paced, two hour format of high energy performances and rare collaborations.
Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale will be the host of the show and will be showcasing multiple local and national touring artists each month.
Tickets are on sale now - $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
