Celebrate July 4th in 1982 World's Fair Style

Celebrate the Fourth of the July in 1982 World's Fair style on Wednesday July 4, 2007 at the World's Fair Park starting at 2 p.m.
Events and activites for the day include the following:

2:00 p.m. - The International Bazaar featuring the 1982 World's Fair Exhibit by the East Tennessee Historical Center, entertainment, an international buffet and international merchandise opens at the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center. Enjoy the "Star Spangled Kids Zone" with an arts and crafts tent, inflatable games, magicians, clowns, puppet shows and a balloon artist. A variety of food vendors will open for attendees to indulge in their favorite treats.

2:00 p.m. - Music on the WDVX Stage on the Festival Lawn. Enjoy the Amazing Rhythm Aces and other local favorites!
2:00 p.m. - Lonetones (contemporary cool folk)
3:15 p.m. - Maid Rite String Band (Old Time Country String Music)
4:30 p.m. - Christabel and the Jons (folksy, blues, swing)
6:45 p.m. - The Amazing Rhythm Aces (Grammy Winning American Roots Music)

6:00 p.m. - Tribute to the World’s Fair 25th Anniversary. A daredevil surprise kicks off the Salute to the Worlds Fair followed by the National Anthem. A parade of nations then begins where the 22 flags from the visiting countries will be presented.

8:00 p.m. - 23rd Annual Free Independence Day Concert on the main stage on the south lawn featuring the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

9:35 p.m. - Fireworks begin!

Parking is available in lots around the World's Fair Park: 11th Street parking garage, ADA parking at Fort Kid parking lot, World's Fair Park parking lot, Blackstock and Locust Street Garage.
