Fun at Boo! at the Zoo

Posted: 10/13/2005
Knoxville's largest Halloween event is back and it's bigger than ever. The 19th annual Boo! at the Zoo presented by U.S. Cellular® is eight nights of safe and spooky fun set for Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 20-23 and 27-30, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Knoxville Zoo.

Treat stations, costumed characters and fun activities are the highlights of this multi-night family event that has become a safe haven for trick-or-treaters. The zoo is decorated with pumpkins, haystacks, cornstalks and scarecrows to make this a fun fall experience. Families with younger children will find this to be the must-do event of the season. Costumes may be worn, but are not required.

Several changes have been made to the event this year. The largest is the Clayton Family Kids Cove will be open during Boo! In this area guests can enjoy O'Charley's Haunted Tent, sing at Cotton Eyed Joe's Karaoke at the Monster Mash, meet costumed characters, play games, ride the Haunted Carousel and more. The zoo has also added an additional entrance into the event for easier access.

The Boo! trail will again be open for young ghosts and goblins. Guests will have to present their ticket at the trail entrance and may only go down this trick-or-treat trail once. Treat stations are sponsored by April Beddow, BB&T Mortgage, Dillard's, Krispy Kreme, Krystal, Norwood Chiropractic, O'Charley's, ORNL Federal Credit Union, Shoney's, Target, The Real Yellow Pages® from BellSouth and U.S. Cellular.

Make Boo! at the Zoo presented by U.S. Cellular® a family tradition this Halloween. Tickets are on sale now. Guests are encouraged to buy tickets in advance for their convenience. Tickets are valid for any event night. Boo! tickets are $6 per person. Children 2 and under are admitted free. Parking is $3.
